About the Dryzen System

Yes. The property needs a loft to mount the dehumidifier unit. If you are not sure whether your Chatham home is suitable, book a free survey and we will check.

A whole-house system uses a central unit mounted in your loft, with insulated ductwork running to the central area or stairway only. It runs continuously and silently, treating the entire property automatically - with no intervention from you. A portable unit only dehumidifies one room at a time, requires regular emptying, and does nothing to address the root cause of your home's moisture problem. It's the difference between a sticking plaster and a cure.

Yes, provided the property has a loft to mount the dehumidifier unit. That includes Victorian terrace houses, semi-detached and detached properties, bungalows, flats and new builds with a loft. Rental properties are not suitable unless changes are authorised by the landlord. Our survey stage assesses your specific property to confirm suitability and design the right solution.

No - they address different problems. Traditional damp-proofing treats rising damp from ground moisture penetrating walls. The Dryzen system addresses condensation damp - the far more common UK problem caused by water vapour produced inside the home that has nowhere to go. If your windows are steaming up, you have black mould growing in corners, or rooms feel perpetually damp and musty, condensation damp is almost certainly the cause, and Dryzen is the solution.

The dehumidifier removes excess moisture from the air already inside your home. The fresh air system brings in outdoor air, with an adjustable ratio of fresh and recycled air, dehumidified and filtered before it enters the house. They work together: the dehumidifier controls humidity levels, while the fresh air system continuously brings in filtered outdoor air to reduce the stuffiness associated with sealed modern homes. Most Dryzen installations combine both for a complete solution.

Extremely quiet. Our central units operate at between 25 and 38 dB(A) - quieter than a library and barely audible from a normal distance. The ductwork delivers air at low velocity, so you won't hear it through vents. The vast majority of our customers tell us they forget the system is running entirely.

Installation & Disruption

For a typical three-bedroom house, installation takes one to two days. Larger properties or those requiring more complex ductwork may take slightly longer - we'll give you a precise timeframe when we provide your quotation. Our team works efficiently and cleans up thoroughly before they leave.

Minimal. The main unit is mounted in your loft, and ducting is routed through the loft space where possible - keeping disruption to your living areas to a minimum. Small vent grilles are fitted in ceilings or walls in the central area or stairway. We protect all floors and furniture during the work and leave your home clean and tidy.

We do ask that someone is present at the start of each day to let our engineers in and at the end of the final day for the handover and demonstration. You don't need to be home throughout the day itself - our team will get on with the work independently.

Only if the property has a loft, as a loft is needed to mount the dehumidifier unit. Where there is loft access, installation is often straightforward. We'll assess your property at the survey stage and recommend the best approach.

Running Costs & Energy Use

Our systems are highly energy efficient, with running costs of around £20 per year. Many customers find that the improved heating efficiency of a drier home partially offsets this cost - damp air requires significantly more energy to heat than dry air.

Potentially, yes. Damp air holds more heat and requires more energy to warm up than dry air. By maintaining optimal indoor humidity, some customers see a measurable reduction in heating costs - particularly in older properties with high moisture levels.

Health Benefits

It may help, but it is not a medical treatment. Dust mites do better in humid air, and Dryzen is designed to hold humidity down, while the fresh air side uses an activated carbon filter. If anyone in your household has asthma or allergies, speak to your GP as well.

It helps remove the conditions mould needs. Mould grows where humidity stays high, above about 60%, and Dryzen is designed to hold humidity in a healthier range. It does not kill mould that is already there or fix leaks, so clean existing mould off with a suitable product first.

Servicing & Warranty

An annual service visit is all that's required. During this visit, our engineer replaces filters, cleans the unit, checks all sensors and components, and produces a health report. We'll remind you when it's due and book it at your convenience. Between services, the system is designed to run without any intervention on your part.

All Dryzen systems come with a 10-year warranty covering both parts and labour. The compressor is covered for 1 year. This means that if any other component fails due to a manufacturing defect or workmanship issue within ten years of installation, we'll repair or replace it at no cost to you. The warranty is valid as long as you maintain an active Dryzen service plan.

With regular annual servicing, a Dryzen system is designed to last 20 years or more. The central unit has no consumable parts other than filters, and the ducting and vents have an indefinite lifespan. We design our systems with longevity in mind - and we'll be there to support you for the duration.

Rental Properties

Not suitable unless changes are authorised by the landlord. If you rent, you will need the landlord's authorisation before any installation.

We currently install and service systems across England and Wales. Contact us with your postcode and we'll confirm coverage and typical lead times in your area. We're actively expanding our network of installation engineers - if we can't reach you directly right now, we can often refer you to a trained partner installer.
